The first US African-American First Lady doesn't just inspire those on her home turf, her influence reaches women all around the globe. She came from a normal blue-collar family, dealt with racism, went on to study at Princeton University and Harvard Law School and at one point earned even more money than her husband. Through her role as First Lady, Obama has worked to support military families, helped working women balance career and family, promoted the arts and arts education, and tackled child obesity. She regularly tops best dressed lists and is ever the picture of grace and elegance.
